PRACTICE NURSE & HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT
The Practice Nurse or the Health Care Assistant will be available every morning and some afternoons by advance appointment only.
Services provided by the Practice Nurse include:- Blood pressure and Well Person Checks. Diabetes, Asthma and Heart Disease reviews. Contraceptive Services and Cervical Smears. Travel advice and immunisations. Dressings and removal of stitches etc. Smoking cessation advice. Dietary weight advice. Phlebotomy.
Services provided by the Health Care Assistant include:-
Blood pressure checks and taking blood, ECG’s and ear syringing. Weight / BMI.

Minor Surgical Procedures
These are by specific arrangement, after an appointment and discussion with the doctor.
Sickness Certificates
You do not require a doctor's sickness certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less. Your employer may however require you to complete a self-certification form (SC2) which is available from your employer or at our reception or on the HMRC website.
For any illness lasting longer than seven days you will need to see the doctor for him/her to issue a sickness certificate and for any subsequent renewal of the certificate. If your employer insists on a sickness certificate for 7 days or less a charge will be levied.
INSURANCE AND MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS (not covered by NHS)
E.g. HGV medicals. Please telephone for a special appointment well in advance. A list of charges for non-NHS services is available at reception. These cannot usually be done at short notice.
